This is Mr. Coyote Face. He took me a week or two to complete, the silly thing. Done from a picture reference with my handy dandy mechanical pencil on a piece of 9x12 bristol board stuffs. Yes, he likes little lines...*pokes him* I made him a tad bit fluffier than in the reference picture though, so we'll say he's in his winter coat. Fluffy is better

*edit*: just uploaded a better scan...tried to get rid of those odd lines in the background....

nikkiburr - Mr Coyote Face by ~nikkiburr is one of those drawings that slap you in the face, with something to the equivalent of a brick wall. my favorite part is the ears. (Featured by `alphaosiris)

Today's experiment... Failed!

Wow! That looks so realistic! The fur on the ears are just the right darkness and length. Even that fur inside the ear, which is so hard to do, is perfect. The amount of time and effort you put into this piece is very evident from the fur. The light lines combined with the odd dark spot is really quite amazing. The wavy fur looks incredible. The really dark fur on the top of the coyote's head reminds me of my cat when it hasn't had a bath for a while. The lighter hair that sticks up from the head contrasts nicely with the dark fur.

Though I must say I love the face the most. The shading in the eye and the way the fur flows around it couldn't be better. His nose even has the tell-tale "dots" that many forget to put in. The shading on the teeth look so realistic. It was really the mouth that had me wondering if this was a photo for a moment. You even gave the tongue that smooth texture canines seem to have. There isn't a part in the entire piece that doesn't look like you put a lot of time and details in it.

:+fav: This is simply perfect. I think I shall go visit the rest of your gallery now.

I love your fur, and this guy turned out abosultly beautiful if even a bit fluffy but that I think just adds to the charm. When one must choose between artistic design and animal accuracy sometimes facts have to take a back seat for a better image. Great work you have here.

Incredible detail. The textures are just awe-inspiring. It looks like a photograph, you did the fur so wonderfully well. There's so much depth in the picture it's like I could touch him. :worship:
